An 8-LED ring on the bracelet points children toward their guardian using color-coded directional lights — no screen needed.
"The lights on your bracelet point you toward your mom or dad like a magic arrow. Green means they're close, yellow means walk that way, red means they're far. You just follow the brightest light!"
Eight RGB LEDs are arranged in a compass rose pattern around the bracelet face. Using the guardian's phone GPS and the bracelet's own position, the system calculates the bearing to the guardian.
The LED closest to the guardian's direction lights up brightest. Color indicates distance: green (within 30ft), yellow (30-100ft), red (100ft+). Brightness pulses faster as the child gets closer.
Three modes: Guardian Finder (default — points to nearest guardian), Safe Zone (all green when inside geofence, red LEDs indicate boundary direction), and Party Mode (decorative rainbow pattern for fun).
The compass works without any screen interaction — perfect for young children who can't read maps. It's intuitive: just walk toward the bright light.

SafeStep's LED ring lights up to point children toward their guardian. No screen needed — just follow the glowing LEDs.

The SafeStep bracelet has 12 LEDs arranged in a ring around the face. Using Bluetooth signal strength and mesh network triangulation, it calculates the direction to the paired guardian device. The closest LED glows brightest orange, with neighboring LEDs fading out — creating an intuitive directional arrow that even young children can follow without reading or using a screen.
Point your phone in different directions and watch the LED ring respond in real time. Your phone's compass becomes the bracelet — turn until the lights reach 12 o'clock!
Uses BLE signal strength and mesh network nodes for accurate direction finding.
Children follow the glowing LEDs intuitively — no reading, no apps, no distractions.
Direction updates every 200ms as the child moves, ensuring they always know which way to go.
The LED ring doesn't just point — it changes color to show how close the guardian is. Here's how it works for a child:
LED compass guides child to guardian
Spin slowly until the glowing lights reach 12 o'clock
Bluetooth Proximity Tethering
Customizable distance zones with real-time RSSI measurement — both bracelet and phone vibrate when the child wanders too far.
Mesh Network Tracking
Even without WiFi or cellular, nearby devices relay your child's location through a multi-hop mesh network.
29-Sensor Intelligence
Twenty-nine sensors work together to distinguish between safe play and real danger — swimming vs drowning, roughhousing vs assault.
